Job Title: Field Maintenance Engineer
Location: Concord, NH
Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000 per year plus bonus
Job Summary for Field Maintenance Engineer: We are seeking a self-directed Field Maintenance Engineer who excels in customer interactions, possesses technical writing skills, and can provide valuable recommendations for product improvements to our Product Development Group. The Field Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for independently assembling, commissioning, inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting systems both within the United States and internationally.
Qualifications for Field Maintenance Engineer:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a field maintenance role with decision-making responsibilities
- Earned certificate or degree in Electronics or Electrical
- Ability to travel up to 70% of the time (domestic and international)
- Proficiency in writing trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
- Highly preferred knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot systems using electrical schematics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint within a Windows environment
- Must possess a clean driving record
- Must have no fear of heights
- Experience with PLCs, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity is required. Experience with Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platforms is highly preferred.
- Must currently possess or be able to obtain a valid passport with appropriate travel documentation for both domestic and international travel
Responsibilities of the Field Maintenance Engineer:
- Regular interaction with customers, end-users, vendors, and contractors
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating participation of relevant parties for equipment installation and commissioning activities
- Internal coordination to ensure timely response to customer inquiries
- Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment both on-site and remotely
- Repair equipment at customer locations, including warranty and non-warranty claims
- Conduct routine inspections of existing system installations
- Ensure proper implementation and quality of pre-commissioning activities in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation disciplines
- Travel to customer sites for final commissioning and demonstration of equipment functions
- Support project team in resolving punch list items and meeting project requirements
- Participate in project and construction meetings as necessary
- Provide technical training to end-user operators and maintenance personnel
- Respond to on-site technical issues, analyze and resolve faults, and provide ongoing technical support to customers
- Independently coordinate site visits and travel arrangements with customers and end-users
- Provide direct technical support to customers, contractors, sales, and engineering for testing and field service activities
