Field Engineering Manager - Construction supervises on-site technical oversight activities to provide engineering guidance and monitoring for construction projects. Monitors construction progress and conducts daily site inspections to ensure work complies with time, budget, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Being a Field Engineering Manager - Construction enforces quality control procedures and inspection protocols to ensure that standards, designs, blueprints, and specifications are understood and followed. Troubleshoots technical issues that arise on-site and consults with architects, contractors, and supervisors to develop and implement solutions with minimal disruption to project schedules. Additionally, Field Engineering Manager - Construction documents construction activities using logs, progress, and inspection reports and regularly updates status to project managers. Construction Engineering Field Technician IIwill perform field sampling and testing of construction materials for transportation, energy, industrial, municipality, education, and healthcare projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform field sampling and testing of soil, base, aggregate, Portland cement concrete, asphaltic concrete and masonry in accordance with established procedures and the standard methods established by AASHTO, ASTM, TxDOT or other agency with appropriate, properly calibrated testing equipment.
- Mentor and train less experienced construction engineering technicians on sampling/testing procedures.
- Prepare and submit accurate, legible, comprehensive and complete testing reports on a daily basis in accordance with established quality procedures.
- Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of testing data.
- Review testing records performed by other construction engineering technicians to assure compliance with requirements of established procedures.
- Maintains assigned equipment and related calibration in accordance with established laboratory quality management procedures.
- Follows safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Performs pre-task planning prior to executing work. Report any safety issues or concerns to management
Basic/Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience or the equivalent in training and related experience.
- Have and maintain the following certifications:
- Certified in Radiation Safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Reliability – must be able to arrive at designated project sites prior to scheduled times.
- Ability to prepare reports and documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required
- Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.
Preferred Qualifications, But not Required
- It is preferred that experienced technicians have and maintain one or more following certifications:
Physical Demands
- Physical examination required to obtain medical clearance to work may be required
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. and move 100 lbs.
- Able to work in variable outside conditions, including extreme heat or cold.
Individuals must be authorized to work in the U.S.
