Field Superintendent - Construction oversees the daily construction activities of contractors, foremen, and workers at a work site to ensure projects follow schedules. Coordinates the procurement, delivery, and placement of materials and equipment on-site as required to execute each phase of a construction project. Being a Field Superintendent - Construction follows construction schedules and monitors daily and weekly progress to ensure project milestones are achieved. Troubleshoots any issues involving workers, contractors, safety, quality, changes, or processes and expedites solutions to keep the project on track. Additionally, Field Superintendent - Construction directs or conducts inspections to audit the quality of workmanship and materials and compliance with specifications and standards. Completes the required status, change, or timekeeping reports. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a project manager. The Field Superintendent - Construction supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Field Superintendent - Construction typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. The Superintendent is responsible for all aspects of daily operations on a construction project. Such duties may include direction of subcontractors and BHS personnel on site, maintaining a safe jobsite, maintaining tools and equipment on site, interpreting project plans and producing red line drawings, scheduling inspections, confirming materials and coordinating material deliveries, promotion of teamwork, performing any other assignments as directed by Project Manager or Upper Management. Preferred applicants will have 3 years of experience, an active driver’s license, OSHA training certification, and elevated construction knowledge. Physical demands require lifting up to 100 lbs., adequate vision, and tolerance for extended exposure to outdoor elements.
