    This role is not tightly linked to a physical location and provides flexibility to work from anywhere within the Czech Republic. Regular travel to the Prague office to attend team meetings will be required.


    Job Summary

    This is an exciting role, as part of the International Finance team, where you will support the Finance Manager to ensure timely execution of the finance and accounting affairs for the Strategic Growth Markets region within EMEA.

    Primarily focused on the H-D Czech Republic division of Harley-Davidson Europe Ltd, the successful Financial Lead will work closely with the regions management teams to add value and contribute to the attainment of operational and strategic objectives. You will manage and co-ordinate all financial processes, reporting, controls as well as driving through changes to the financial systems and processes. Ensuring quality, accuracy and integrity of data, with timely and applied business reporting /management including the timely filing of all relevant statutory requirements, including but not limited to income tax, VAT filings as well as annual accounts.

    This role will also interact with the wider International Finance team, based in Oxford. This team provides accounting, financial and commercial support to a wide range of stakeholders throughout the region; including the Executive Leadership Team, senior functional mangers and all individuals involved in the sales and purchasing processes.


    Job Responsibilities


    WHAT

    • Provide monthly financial support to the business: Record month-end journal entries/accruals, assure all expenses are recorded in the month incurred, issue departmental performance reports.
    • Assist business leadership with the financial management of their departmental expenses.
    • Partner in decision making as a problem solver, striving to enable operational initiatives while maintaining financial integrity and safeguarding shareholders assets and earnings.
    • Contribute to annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting and strategic plan updates.
    • Provide variance explanations to help inform performance to plan.
    • Help ensure all accounting complies with EMEA reporting requirements and that financial systems.
    • Assume leadership responsibility as necessary, including being an advocate for new ideas and serving as an example to coworkers.
    • Manage and control discount and promotional programme process for the markets.
    • Ensure management and integrity of all market control processes, e.g. credit note approval.
    • Manage and control the fleet of Company Owned Vehicles from a financial perspective.
    • Assist with process and control environment improvements on an ad-hoc basis.

    Education Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting is Required.
    • Czech GAAP experience is a plus.


    Experience Requirements

    • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible financial experience.
    • Strong technical accounting background with experience in a variety of Finance areas.
    • Experience with SAP ERP system is a plus.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Czech language.
    • Fluency in English (able to distill complex concepts into clear, concise messages and recommendations)
    • Proficient computer skills, including office productivity tools (spreadsheets, word processing, calendaring, and presentation software), as well as General Ledger systems, Business Objects, or other reporting tools.
    • Strong organizational skills, with ability to self-motivate and successfully work on multiple projects.
    • A skilled approach to building strong working relationships with business partners.
    • Strong and independent analytical thinker and influencer.
    • Able to thrive in a self-directed culture, navigating ambiguity and creating direction.
