The New Jersey Judiciary, Bergen Vicinage seeks a hands-on supervisor with proven leadership skills who can motivate employees, provide direction, establish procedures, make effective decisions, and foster a teamwork environment. The selected candidate must have exceptional written and verbal communication and customer service skills, advanced analytical and Excel skills, the highest level of integrity, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. We are located in the heart of the bustling Hackensack redevelopment district, close to transit options, and provide free parking.

Under the general direction and supervision of the Finance Division Manager (Court Executive 2b) or designee, the selected candidate will supervise paraprofessional and support staff. Responsibility for cash collections, child support alerts/mods, court-ordered child support audits, and compliance with all current and evolving federal regulations and training requirements. This position works with other departments to monitor and reconcile various system reports and serves with other stakeholders at regular partnership meetings.

REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

* Assign workload or specific duties to staff or team members

* Coordinate, plan, and prioritize work of unit or team

* Communicate policies, rules or regulations to staff or team members

* Regulate flow of work in accordance with operating schedules

* Review and correct work of staff or team members

* Mentor and coach staff or team members; provide direction and feedback

* Conduct formal work performance evaluations with staff or team members

* Prepare technical, statistical, financial, review or evaluation reports

* Recommend improvements in operating procedures, programs, standards, work processes and/or administrative practices

* Implement and/or oversee proper implementation of operating procedures or systems.

* Attend and participate in meetings outside of work unit/team

* Act as staff to committees or conferences

* Perform related duties as required

Salary range is $60,643.14 - $93,652.13. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university supplemented by 21 credits hours in accounting, business administration, economics, public administration and/or finance. Twelve of these credit hours must be in accounting and three years of paraprofessional and/or professional experience, one year of which shall have included experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting, cash management and/or financial analysis.

Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education, but do possess the required 21 credit hours in accounting, business administration, economics, public administration, and/or finance, including 12 accounting credit hours, may substitute paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis. A master's degree may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above –OR– a CPA designation may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above.

Driver's License: Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.

Residency Law: In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.

Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
