Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Financial Aid Representative to join our team. A Financial Aid Representative is responsible for providing advice and guidance to students, prospective students, parents, staff, and the community regarding financial aid programs, application procedures, budget development, debt management, and the effective use of student financial resources available for education.
Duties:
Assist and support the Financial Aid Director with daily tasks
Provide personalized assistance to students and families regarding financial aid applications
Review financial aid applications to ensure accuracy and collaborate with students and families to resolve any discrepancies
Conduct verification of student information by requesting and evaluating supporting documentation
Calculate financial aid packages and advise students of eligibility via email, phone, and in-person meetings
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of communications with students and families
Maintain student documents and files in a neat and organized manner
Counsel and educate students regarding loan repayment options
Access Department of Education websites to obtain student documentation
Qualifications:
High school degree or GED required; College degree preferred.
Proven work experience in similar roles (Customer Service, Banking, Financial Advising, Administrative work, etc.)
General knowledge about financial aid preferred.
Preferred Skills:
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise.
Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize and work under pressure.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.63 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 39 – 40 per week
