Financial Associate (Public) gathers and interprets financial data and coordinates the process for the origination of debt securities used to finance public projects for housing, utilities or other municipal initiatives. Develops estimates of services and completes a comprehensive analysis of project, including bond ratings and insurance. Being a Financial Associate (Public) collaborates with public officials in analyzing the necessary bond and cash flow reports that are associated with the projects. Starts the offering process and may make recommendations to interested investors. Additionally, Financial Associate (Public) coordinates preparation of all offering documents. Manages the bond issuance process and assists with the offering. Depending on the size and level of project, responsibility may vary. May manage the entire project or only a portion of the deal. Requires a bachelor's degree of Finance. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Financial Associate (Public) works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. Financial Trainer

  • Position Overview

    The Financial Trainer serves as the primary resource to develop and deliver Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software training and curriculum to support the entire organization; this includes Human Capital Management (HCM), Financial, and Procurement modules, as well as standalone banking and purchasing software utilized in the organization.  The Financial Trainer will develop, manage, and deliver comprehensive training of staff.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Develops and delivers financial procedural and software training programs for bookkeepers, principals, and account managers.
    • Develops and delivers time and attendance procedural and software training curriculum to timekeepers, principals, and account managers.
    • Develops procedural and software training programs for stakeholders that are responsible for approving budgetary and financial records.
    • Trains Business & Financial Services policies and regulations to new hires and updates as they occur.
    • Assists in the development, delivery, and online publishing of training curriculum and materials.
    • Collaborates and designs training materials to maintain an up-to-date learning management library (presentations, multimedia visual aids, standard operating procedures, quick reference tools, instructor/participant guides, etc.).
    • Delivers and provides informational material in various forms at levels suitable for the intended audience.
    • Writes and edits electronic media that may include highly visible communication projects.
    • Communicates technical information to non-technical users.
    • Serves as a resource to support end-users on software issues as they pertain to daily operations of the HCM, Financial, and Procurement modules, including other financial software.
    • Assists in the achievement of department goals through development, delivery, and training; conducts classroom, online, or webinar training sessions while adhering to the Business and Financial Services publishing standards.
    • Responsible for all training communications for the Business and Finance Department through designated communication channels.
    • Provides on-going support and training to applicable staff, to include site visits.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in accounting, finance, computer science or related field required or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training to demonstrate the standards, concepts and guidelines to perform the responsibilities of the position
    • Strong customer service, organization, and communications skills
    • Maintain exceptional organizational, time-management, and planning skills with strong attention to detail
    • Proficient in the advanced use of Microsoft Office 365
    • Ability to establish effective working relationships throughout the organization

     

    Physical Requirements

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. The employee must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. The employee must possess normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn, recall and apply certain practices and policies. Frequently sitting and/or remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

     

    Telework Disclosure

    Employees who perform the responsibilities of the above position have been identified as having the potential to telework. Telework is defined as completing one's duties and responsibilities at a site other than one's assigned duty location. In order to be eligible for telework privileges, an employee must have demonstrated consistent, positive performance and have the support and approval of their direct supervisor. In addition, these employees must have reliable high-speed internet and a designated workspace that allows them privacy while completing sensitive and confidential work.  Employees who are non-exempt and are teleworking will work their required scheduled hours and gain approval from their supervisor if they work more than 8 hours a day or more than 40 hours in a workweek.  Teleworking privileges can be amended, changed, or revoked based upon the performance of the employee, as well as the needs of Loudoun County Public Schools.
