Financial Associate (Public) gathers and interprets financial data and coordinates the process for the origination of debt securities used to finance public projects for housing, utilities or other municipal initiatives. Develops estimates of services and completes a comprehensive analysis of project, including bond ratings and insurance. Being a Financial Associate (Public) collaborates with public officials in analyzing the necessary bond and cash flow reports that are associated with the projects. Starts the offering process and may make recommendations to interested investors. Additionally, Financial Associate (Public) coordinates preparation of all offering documents. Manages the bond issuance process and assists with the offering. Depending on the size and level of project, responsibility may vary. May manage the entire project or only a portion of the deal. Requires a bachelor's degree of Finance. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Financial Associate (Public) works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. Our Public Finance Group is looking for a Director, Public Finance, to serve public school districts across the state of Minnesota. The work of this team combines complex financial analysis with the real-world task of supporting public school district capital projects and operational funding needs. We provide municipal bond advisory, referendum assistance and strategic financial planning services.
Key components of this job require excellent oral and written communication skills, great attention to detail, collaborating with the team, and working well under pressure. The preferred candidate would have three to five years of relevant professional work experience and a bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university. The job includes travel across the state of Minnesota for conferences and client meetings including school board and committee meetings that occur outside of regular business hours.
