Essential Functions:
1. Running collection reports/making daily collection calls.
2. Reviewing accounts for Bad Debt collection.
3. Posting patient payments/balancing batches.
4. Processing patient statements daily.
5. Answering billing calls/patient questions regarding benefits/charges/bills and establishing payment plans.
6. Utilizing Insurance web portals to verify benefits/check claim status/update patient information.
7. Counseling patients on insurance benefits for maternity services, surgery services, and in office testing/procedures.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Knowledge of insurance (deductible, copay, coinsurance) and ability to explain insurance benefits to patients.
- Experience with medical billing/coding preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel.
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task.
