Foremost Farms USA is seeking a director who will contribute to the success of the organization by driving strong business partnership with the Milk and Risk Management teams, overseeing the milk and ingredient P&Ls, analyzing and monitoring market price risk, and helping develop a high performing financial planning & analysis team. This role will also partner closely with the senior leadership team on key strategic business initiatives.
This individual will lead efforts to validate and optimize by-product / ingredient costs and margins, support mass balance efforts to optimize milk supply and milk component and ingredient utilization, analyze and monitor market price risk to optimize risk management activities and the government milk pooling/de-pooling program, and support milk purchase / sale negotiations and the overall member patron pricing program. This individual will collaborate closely with both the Operations and Commercial teams as it relates to milk and ingredient activities.
Responsibilities:
· Develop internal financial expertise to lead decision support on milk component and ingredient utilization, milk sales and member patron and 3rd party milk purchases, mass balance monetization, and the pooling/de-pooling program.
· Provide financial validation and oversight on risk management strategies, coverage levels and overall positions to balance risk and optimize financial impact and ensure proper hedge accounting controls and segregation of duties are in place.
· Develop proactive financial contingency plans depending on various dairy market pricing conditions to take advantage of profit opportunities or mitigate potential risks
· Lead, coach, and develop finance talent across the organization. Develop robust succession plan and bench strength for all roles.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree finance, accounting, or related quantitative/technical discipline
· 10 years of job-related experience
· Ability to present fact-based recommendations across various levels of management
· Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; proficiency working in Excel and PowerPoint is required
Preferred Qualifications:
· Advanced degree such as MBA, CPA or related quantitative/technical discipline
· Knowledge related to the job and job-related experience in the dairy industry
Physical Setting
· Ability to travel occasionally
· Onsite at headquarters location in Middleton, WI a minimum of 1 week per month
