Requirements & Preferred Qualifications
- B.S. in Finance, Accounting, Economics (MBA preferred)
- 7-10 years of experience in progressive finance roles in financial services
- Significant experience leading a business planning & analysis function
- Significant experience partnering with business unit leads to drive operational results
- Advanced excel skills including extension experience, creating detailed/complex forecasting models
- Proven track record of managing and developing team members
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in an easy-to-understand format
- Ability to work well independently, multi-task, and handle time-sensitive material in a fast-paced environment
- Assertive manner- to take ownership of role in being the gatekeeper of profitability
- Mortgage Finance/Accounting experience highly preferred
Position Responsibilities
- Financial Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting: develop and manage financial planning, create budgets, and develop forecasts to ensure the company’s financial stability.
- Variance Analysis and Financial Models: They generate variance analysis reports and construct financial models to assess performance and identify discrepancies.
- Operation Performance Modeling: work closely with business and operational leaders to develop financial model to scale each business line, develop cost-to-produce targets and operational budgets.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): develop and set and track KPIs and objectives, helping the company measure success and progress.
- Market Research and Comparable Company Analysis: They conduct market research and analyze comparable companies to inform financial strategies.
- Recommendations for Financial Performance Improvement analysis and recommend strategies to enhance financial performance.
- Monthly Financial Analysis: Analyze and present detailed monthly financial variance reports to managers, providing insights and recommendations.
- Software Proficiency: learn existing production, capital markets and general ledger software to drive data sourcing and analysis.
- Team Management: As the company grows this position will have an opportunity to add staff of more junior financial planning analysts. This position will have extensive collaborate with senior members of the accounting and treasury teams.
