    POSITION SUMMARY:

    We are currently recruiting for a Financial Reporting Manager position. This full- time position pays $71.47 an hour and is located in Providence, RI.

    A brief overview of the Financial Reporting Manager position is as follows: Plans, organizes, assigns and reviews the work of accounting, technical and clerical staff; reviews work in process and upon completion for accuracy, adequacy and conformance with law, policies and accepted accounting practices and procedures. Oversee daily payroll preaudit; financial reporting; accounting; and administration.

    A thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of governmental finances, payroll, payroll taxes, benefits, retirement funds, union contracts, payroll preaudit, principles and practices of the state's accounting system; the ability to design, analyze and interpret complex accounting systems, procedures and financial reports; The ability to execute complex financial account reconciliations; the ability to plan, organize, supervise and review the work of a professional, technical and clerical staff engaged in governmental accounting work; and related capacities and abilities.

    • Manage/research/update ERSRI records
    • Manage/research/update TIAA records
    • Manage the bi-weekly Payroll Process
    • Manage Quarterly Tax Filing Process
    • Manage Annual Tax Filing Process
    • Manage/research/update PSW-Fidelity records
    • Reconciliations
    • Quarterly Co-Share Retro Calculation
    • Quarterly TIAA Forfeiture Calculation
    • Monthly NIC Invoice
    • Audit
    • Quarterly PayStub RI Admin and Service Center Users
    • Write/Post Public Payroll Notices as necessary
    • Track/sign Timesheets for Central Payroll
    • Bank of America Reporting as needed
    • APRA request as needed
    • Upload SSA verification files and distribute results
    • Write Procedures as needed
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Knowledge of Excel, databases, and word processing software
    • Knowledge of PowerPoint, Adobe, Word
    • Ability to prioritize assignments
    • Focus on accuracy and detail orientated
    • Strong understanding of the total Payroll process and how it interacts with Human Resources and the Financial Statements. Including, but not limited to:
    • Gross wage calculations
    • Deductions
    • Taxes
    • Retirement plans
    • Labor distribution
    • Proven ability to work as a team member
    • Strong attention to detail required for this role

    Education and Experience:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
    • Bachelor or Master’s Degree from a college of recognized standing with specialization in finance, accounting, business management, or public administration, required.
    • 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or public management, including some work at a responsible administrative or management level

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds
