Position Summary: This position is responsible for the preparation of internal and external financial reporting, including monthly Board financial package, SEC reports and regulatory reports, of a one-bank holding company. Also responsible for maintaining effective internal controls over financial reporting and related Sarbanes Oxley compliance. Position also serves as the liaison to ensure a tight cohesion between the accounting/reporting functions and other departments by working with management and staff on issues affecting the general ledger, regulatory reporting and SEC reporting.
Primary Duties
Assist with timely and accurate preparation of the monthly Board financial package, including analysis of performance of the Company, Bank and subsidiaries.
- Assist with timely and accurate preparation and submission of external regulatory reports to the FRB and FDIC, including quarterly Call Report, FR-Y-9C and FR-Y-9LP reports and annual Summary of Deposits for the Bank and FR Y-8 reports for the Company and periodic FR Y-6 and FR Y-10 reports for the Company.
- Assist with timely and accurate preparation and submission of external reports to the SEC and Shareholders, including Form 10-Q, Form 10-K, and Annual Report to Shareholders. Assist with the preparation of Press Releases, Form 8-K, and Proxy.
- Assist with the annual 11-K filing.
- Help complete specialty accounting projects and reporting including Goodwill Impairment Analysis, FAS91 cost study, OTTI analysis, and others assigned.
- Monitor U.S. GAAP as well as SEC and regulatory reporting requirements for changes to the scope, content and presentation of financial data related to the Company, Bank and subsidiaries.
- Manage Sarbanes-Oxley 404 internal control compliance for the Company, Bank and subsidiaries and coordinate internal controls for financial reporting for all parts of the Company, Bank and subsidiaries.
- Work closely with other members of the Accounting Department to ensure that the accounting and reporting functions are integrated and employees are knowledgeable about the financial reporting ramifications of accounting procedures, policies and decisions.
- Work closely with other departments of the Company and Bank on the quality and correctness of system reports produced for internal, external and regulatory needs.
- Assist as needed in the monthly, quarterly and annual general ledger closeout process for the Company, Bank and subsidiaries.
- Work with the Bank’s Chief Risk Officer, regulators, auditors, and accountants in the execution of the Company’s risk management, regulatory and financial accounting examination and audits.
- Maintain compliance with and adhere to all state and federal regulations and internal policies and procedures, including, but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, FACT ACT, Community Reinvestment Act, and EEO/AA/Fair Employment Practices.

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- CPA preferred
- Minimum of six years’ experience in bank financial management and reporting, or equivalent experience with a CPA firm auditing bank financial statements and internal control over financial reporting
- U.S. public company reporting experience or experience working in an advisory or auditing capacity for an SEC registrant required
