The Network Systems Analysts is responsible for all aspects of network and systems management, design, documentation, and support for Asheboro City Schools. This employee coordinates with the Chief Information Officer on the evaluation of school system networking needs and recommends improvements and modifications to existing infrastructure. Work involves tracking E-Rate network equipment and ensuring Asheboro City Schools abides by E-Rate policies. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Network Management: The Network Systems Analyst is responsible for all aspects of network and systems management, design, documentation, and support for Asheboro City Schools.
Equipment Installation and Management: Supervises and coordinates the installation, maintenance, operation and inventory of a local and wide area network and associated computer hardware and software.
Backup and Disaster Recovery: Regularly prepares and conducts system backups and tests disaster protocols, infrastructure improvements, installation, maintenance, design, and support for Network/Servers/Firewall.
Coordinates with the Chief Information Officer on the evaluation of school system networking needs and recommends improvements and modifications to existing infrastructure.
Tracks E-Rate network equipment and ensures ACS abides by E-Rate policies.
Help Desk Support: Provides Tier2 support to Help Desk Staff.
Active Directory and Group Policy Administration.
Develops and implements methods for cross-training Information Technology Support Staff that will translate into improved response times for site-based connectivity issues.
System Security and Compliance: Implements and monitors security posture of the school systems network, information, and data systems.
Documentation and Knowledge Base Updates: Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation.
Provides E-rate Category 1 and Category 2 staff training.
Responsible for end user devices, setup configurations and management.
Responsible for VOIP installations/configuration and management.
Monitoring and Reporting: Responds to system issues proactively utilizing network monitoring tools.
Information Technology system integrations (Access control, security, HVAC, communication etc. ).
Serves as the Google G Suite Administrator.
Serves as the Microsoft Office 365 Administrator.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Must have extensive experience planning, configuring, managing, supporting and troubleshooting Windows Server environments.
Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy administration, File and Print, DNS and other infrastructure roles.
Experience managing Microsoft Office 365.
Strong working knowledge of computer hardware, software and peripheral devices, web-based technology, Microsoft Windows Server., Microsoft SQL Server, FTP, DHCP, DNS, IIS, Data Backup strategies, VMWare/HyperV, and storage systems.
Extensive experience in designing, supporting, and documenting network architecture, hardware, and software in a complex networking environment, including a wireless network.
Experience with VLAN, Dynamic VLANs, Routing Protocols, and Radius Authentication.
Working experience with network cybersecurity best practices including network segmentation, content filtering, IDS/IPS and RDP, endpoint protection, user authentication, phishing awareness, vulnerability assessments, patch management, incident response, intrusion detection, and training.
Experience with Brocade/Ruckus switchgear and access points preferred.
Experience in an educational setting, preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Network Administration, or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience preferred.
Ability to produce technical procedures and reports.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with all staff, teachers, administrators, and external vendors.
