Fire Fighter is responsible for rapid response to fires, accidents, and other emergencies to protect people, property, and the environment. Works with firefighting teams to control and extinguish fires and safely manage hazardous materials. Being a Fire Fighter performs search and rescue, responds to auto accidents, and provides emergency medical services. Uses and operates fire tools, equipment and apparatus as effectively and safely as possible. Additionally, Fire Fighter performs routine maintenance and inspection of firefighting equipment and gear to ensure proper condition and preparedness for emergencies. Prepares post-incident reports as required. May participate in fire safety education and inspection activities. Typically is required to pass periodic physical ability tests. May require registry in NREMT. May require an associate degree in fire science. Requires Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Fire Fighter works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Are you keen to secure an administrative role that offers flexibility and variety, working one full day a week? This part time Administrative Support Officer role working out of our Seymour District Mechanical Workshop may give you that opportunity.
Reporting to the District Mechanical Officer, Officer in Charge, this position will see you provide critical administration support to the workshop.
Your days will see you undertake a range of administrative functions inclusive of reception duties, word processing, data entry, filing of documents and management of incoming and outgoing mail.

The person we are looking for will be able to work well in a team and have demonstrated administrative and clerical skills along with experience in managing a filing system.
Ideally you will have high level communication and excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and exposure to financial systems including accounts receivable, payable and stock purchasing are also required skills.
Crucial to your success in this role will be your desire to obtain a varied role within a CFA workshop where you will support the delivery of effective administrative support.
