Fire Inspector jobs in Anaheim, CA

Fire Inspector conducts inspections of new and existing buildings to ensure compliance with fire and safety codes. Prepares reports and issues violation documents. Being a Fire Inspector documents and defines actions needed to resolve non-compliance situations. Conducts fire investigations. Additionally, Fire Inspector has extensive knowledge of codes, ordinances, construction materials, and alarm systems. Typically requires an associate degree in fire science or equivalent. Has completed fire inspection training and may require the Certified Fire Inspector I (CFI) credential and applicable State License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Fire Inspector is capable of working on complex problems and exceptions without direct supervision. Has a wide and comprehensive understanding of both general and specific aspects of the job.     Description

    Provide service, testing, inspection and repair of fire sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and associated equipment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Install and repair all types of fixed extinguishing systems, including underground piping 
    • Diagnose and evaluate systems which require servicing; troubleshoot issues that arise during inspection
    • Provide solutions and/or recommendations to bring systems back in operating working condition in the most beneficial way for the customer
    • Complete all activities related to service and installation of fire protection systems
    • Complete fire sprinkler and pump testing documentation

    Qualifications


    Skills and Qualification Requirements:

    • State of California Sprinkler Fitter Card
    • Minimum of 7 years’ industry experience inspecting and repairing fire sprinkler systems
    • Mechanically inclined with a positive attitude 
    • Ability to work independently and/or direct others as required  
    • Ability to pass drug screen and background check
    • Possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and safely climb ladders
    • The ability to respond quickly to dangerous situations
    • The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
    • Strong mechanical background is required
