The Fixture Builder ensures jigs function appropriately with complex angles or contours. Assembles a variety of standard and non-standard major jigs, fixtures and related tooling. Being a Fixture Builder designs and creates jig and fixture details and holding devices. Responsible for determining methods and sequence of operations and scheduling work to be performed from tool design drawings. In addition, Fixture Builder may be required to verify accuracy and quality in accordance with established control procedures. Requires a high school diploma in a related area with certification in the field. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Working as a Fixture Builder typically requires 3-5 years of related experience. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.     Typical duties include:

    • Regularly help and support others on the team
    • Taking direction and executing with minimal supervision
    • Building island, wall gondolas and backroom shelving from the ground up
    • Carpentry skills to include install of furring strips and building millwork
    • Proper building, moving and leveling of gondolas using methods directed by the manufacturer
    • Read a fixture plan to determine correct placement of all fixtures
    • Install overhead signage, aisle markers and other pieces of store décor packages
    • Setting shelves, peg hooks, shelf strips and price labels and stocking merchandise according to a planogram
    • Collaborating with team members and working effectively as a group

    Qualifications


    Qualifications:

    • Have 2 or more years’ experience installing fixtures in a new/remodel retail store environment
    • General carpentry skills, knowledge and experience with building, leveling, and moving gondolas
    • Ability to read and interpret new store and remodel construction drawings, blueprints, and planograms.
    • Own and demonstrate safe usage of basic power tools, hand tools, tape measure, chalk line and levels
    • Scissor lift experience and certification a plus
    • The ability to get along with others and make valuable contributions to an amazing team
    • Be Reliable! Commit to working the assigned hours provided on the project schedule
    • The desire and ability to travel! You will need personal, reliable transportation (we do not provide rentals and public transportation will not suffice in this line of work)
    • Ability to safely stand, bend, stoop, kneel and climb ladders up to 20 feet high and have strength to pull, push and lift materials and products up to 50 pounds consistently
    • Ability to pass national background check and random drug screenings
    • Valid government issued identifications
