Fleet Maintenance Manager jobs in Michigan

True North Asphalt is asphalt and concrete company located in Madison Heights MI. We specialize in commercial jobs and are growing our team. We are looking for a Fleet Maintenance Manager to help repair our equipment and keep track of our fleet of trucks and machinery.

The successful candidate will possess strong mechanical/technical knowledge, shop operation and fleet management systems.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement an effective preventive maintenance program to minimize unscheduled downtime.
• Scheduling needed repairs to ensure that all operating equipment is in satisfactory working condition.
• Oversees the ordering of parts and supplies and maintains adequate inventory.
• Coordinate and schedule third-party vendors for equipment installations and repairs.
• Manages significant maintenance/refit projects.
• Controls downtime by informing the maintenance team of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.

Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and systems
- Proficient in soldering and welding techniques
- Experience with tire service and automotive repair
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required
