Position: Rental Director

SCHEDULE:

The Rental Director must be available to work during the rental department’s business hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am to noon. This position must also be available to work before or after hours, and on weekends as necessary. This is a full-time position that is exempt from overtime.

SUMMARY:

The Rental Director is responsible for the management, operation, and growth of the rental department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Rent vehicles to customers

• Greet customers and discuss type, length, etc. of rental
• Compute charges and collect payment for rental
• Inspect vehicle with customers before and after customer’s possession of rental
• Prepare and complete rental forms including rental agreements and inspection documents

Manage rental fleet

• Purchase new vehicles for rental fleet
• Arrange cleaning and repairs for rental vehicles
• Retire vehicles that have attained maximum mileage according to department policy

Manage department

• Develop and maintain relationships with rental affiliates (hotels, airports, etc.)
• Implement industry best practices
• Process paperwork and maintain records

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Experience

• Work experience favored:
  • Rental industry experience
  • Management experience
  • Sales experience

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent required

Certifications / Licensures

• Valid Driver’s License
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record as outlined by company policy

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Occasional operation of motor vehicle
• Rare squatting
• Light to moderate lifting (0-50 lbs)
• Constant use of hand dexterity
• Constant use of seeing and hearing
• Frequent loud noise, dust/fumes/odors
• Occasional outdoor work (including wet conditions and variation in temperature)
