Description

Then a career as a Corrections Training Instructor/Coordinator I may be the perfect job for you. You will get to work with multiple entities across the Department of Corrections in the training of new recruits as well as other specialty trainings for experienced staff.

The ideal candidate for this position will have strong communication skills, time management skills, initiative, the ability to work under pressure, decision-making skills, the ability to work in a team setting, and computer skills (proficient knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and other office programs).

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Instruct trainees at Regional Training Centers.
• Travel to jails and other locations as needed to deliver training.
• Review and develop curriculum as requested.

Working Conditions

Statewide travel will be required to conduct training programs.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
