Flight Medic transports and transfers patients by aircraft and assesses the extent of an illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures to follow. Provides advanced life support care to patients who are ill and/or injured. Being a Flight Medic replenishes the aircraft with medical supplies after flights. Must be CPR certified. Additionally, Flight Medic requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to manager. Flight Medic's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Overview:As a Combat Medic Specialist, you'll administer emergency medical care in the field in both combat and humanitarian situations. Your training will allow you to serve as a first responder and triage illnesses and injuries to save lives, much like a paramedic in the civilian world. You'll also train other Soldiers in lifesaver/first responder courses and provide care on base while not deployed.Job Duties:- Administer emergency medical treatment to battlefield casualties.
- Assist with outpatient and inpatient care and treatment.
- Prepare blood samples for laboratory analysis.
- Prepare patients, operating rooms, equipment and supplies for surgery.
Requirements:- Be between the ages of 17–35.
- Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
- Skilled Technical (ST):101 and General Technical (GT): 107 on the ASVAB.
- Those who want to serve must first take the ASVAB, a series of tests that helps you better understand your strengths and identify which Army jobs are best for you.
Training:Job training for a Combat Medic Specialist requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 16 weeks of Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sam Houston, TX, including practice of inpatient care.Helpful Skills:- Interest in helping and caring for others.

- Interest in chemistry, biology, psychology, general science, and algebra
