Flight Navigator locates the position of an aircraft and directs its course on domestic and international flights, using navigational aids. May require an associate's degree with at least 4 years of experience in the field. Being a Flight Navigator is familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Additionally, Flight Navigator performs a variety of complicated tasks. May direct and lead the work of others. Under the supervision of the Community for Life “Allegany County” Coordagency-designatedncert with HRDC
Policies and Procedures and program guidelines, provides safe, convenient transportation, referrals to services,
home assessments, and membership sign-up for senior citizens to participate in the Maryland Community for Life
“Allegany County” Program. The Service Navigator provides person-centered professional support and services to
seniors within Allegany County. The Service Navigator will do home visits, membership sign-ups, and community
outreach, provide needed transportation, track membership payments and services while creating a positive,
supportive environment for customers; maintains a positive, professional attitude at all times; and maintains
customer confidentiality.
KEY FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
❖ Responsible for establishing trusting relationships with seniors and their families while providing general
support and encouragement.
❖ Assure participants’ personal information is handled in accordance with privacy statements and policies.
❖ Maintains all documentation related to the program, i.e., transports, services, hours, etc.
❖ Provide transportation to members’ destination choice (within Allegany County), medical appointments,
pharmacy, shopping, etc.
❖ Marketing and/or shopping per the member’s needs/requests.
❖ Complete home fall risk assessments.
❖ Entering membership information into a local database.
❖ Assist members in finding and engaging with other needed services provided by other organizations
❖ Monthly check-in via phone calls to members.
❖ Light maintenance in or around the house.
❖ Assist seniors with completing applications and registration forms.
❖ Respond to customer concerns in an appropriate and timely manner.
❖ Provide referrals for services to community agencies as appropriate.
❖ Helping seniors/families with home repair quotes, evaluating quotes, and follow-up after work is completed
to ensure the work was done as stated.
❖ Be responsible for communicating consistently with management to evaluate senior/family status, ensuring
that provided information and reports clearly describe progress.
❖ Provide reports on client outcomes, the number of clients served, demographic data, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be able to pass CPR and First Aid within the agency-designated time frame.
2. Must provide a satisfactory Criminal Background Check and drug screen within the time frame established
by the program.
3. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
4. Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel.

5. Must have the physical ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
6. Must have High School Diploma or its equivalent.
7. Basic computer skills. Advanced preferred.
8. Understand the community served – community connectedness.
9. Good communication skills, such as listening well and using language appropriately.
10. Ability and willingness to provide seniors emotional support, encouragement, and motivation.
