Floor Assembly Supervisor supervises a manufacturing production line that assembles fabricated parts. Creates daily work schedules, follows standard manufacturing procedures, and monitors work to meet product specifications and production targets. Being an Floor Assembly Supervisor resolves production problems and answers workers' questions about processes, methods, or equipment. Delivers training for new processes or equipment and onboard new employees. Additionally, Floor Assembly Supervisor conducts quality testing on completed assemblies to validate tolerances and product specifications. Reviews daily assembly production records to identify trends or potential performance issues. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members.     Our "xx" department in "xx location" is now looking for a Assembly Supervisor. The Assembly Supervisor will follow the direction of the Assembly Manager to effectively lead the production team to meet Safety, Quality and Production goals. They will work cross-functionally and maintain good working relationships with peers, subordinates, and other departments.

    Key Tasks


    • Receives predetermined work assignments that are subject to a moderate level of control and review. Directs team members to complete assignments using established guidelines, procedures and policies.
    • Interacts daily with subordinates and/or functional peer groups. Interaction normally involves exchange or presentation of factual information.
    • Provides immediate supervision to a unit or group of employees, assigning tasks, checking work at frequent intervals, and maintaining schedules. A portion of time is normally spent performing individual tasks related to the unit or sub-unit. Generally, supervises semi-skilled employees (e.g., assemblers, operators, clerical).
    • Works on issues of limited scope. Follows established practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Monitors daily operations of a unit or sub-unit. Requires full knowledge of own area of functional responsibility.
    • Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules.
    • Effectively lead and manage daily manufacturing of assigned department.
    • Maintain production schedules, ensure daily and weekly production and quality levels are met, and ensure safe work practices are being followed.
    • Ensure effective employee relations; Maintain a positive work environment through professional, courteous, and respectful communication and behavior.
    • Effectively manage employee performance by training, coaching and development. Resolve employee issues through good conflict resolution techniques.
    • Assist in making employment-related decisions.
    • Ensure products meet or exceed customer requirements.
    • Proactively identify potential problems and/or discrepancies. When issues occur, perform effective analysis of root cause and make recommendation of remedy. Consult with management and engineering to correct defective products and/or processes.
    • Manage performance measures, visual controls, and provide regular progress reports to manager.
    • Perform accident and incident investigations.
    • Track absenteeism and timekeeping.
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Duties and responsibilities may be changed from time to time.

    Qualifications:

    • Strong desire to learn and/or improve supervision experience in a manufacturing setting.
    • Ability to positively lead and mentor employees to meet production, quality and safety goals.
    • Ability to positively and effectively communicate across all levels within the organization.
    • Proficiency in the English language (written and oral).
    • Basic math skills.
    • Ability to stand for 8 to 10 hours.
    • Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds.
    • Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, squat, grasp, and work with tools above shoulder level.
    • Good hand and eye coordination and ability to see fine details.
    • Fine finger and wrist manipulation.
    • Ability to wear personal protective equipment for extended periods.



    Your Background


    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, or related technical field desired. Proven leadership experience may substitute for degree.
    • 2 years of manufacturing experience with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory position, preferably manufacturing, durable medical equipment, or similar products.
