Summary
The Food & Beverage Supervisor ensures smooth daily operation of F&B service within the casino and restaurants. This position oversees and ensures excellent guest service from the entire team.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Coaches and guides Team Members to meet department goals and maintain a high level of guest service and internal service standards. Motivates Team Members for continuous improvement.
- Effectively assists in scheduling to meet business demands and manage labor costs.
- Participates in selecting and training new Food and Beverage Team Members.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Manages team in maintenance and cleanliness standards within all F&B areas.
- Responds to common inquiries or complaints from customers. Resolves Guest complaints in a timely and positive manner.
- Ensures adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for daily F&B functions. Demonstrates a high level of knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures and makes suggestions regarding possible inconsistencies or needed updates.
- Coordinates training as well as assists in on-the-job training for team members to ensure thorough understanding of job expectations and performance standards.
- Writes and issues accurate and timely performance management documentation including both corrective and positive feedback for members of the F&B team. Ensures timely administration of Team Member evaluations.
- Assists with inventory and product ordering.
- Utilizes the POS system to track such things as service times, revenue and other data. Responsible for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports. Assists department leadership in achieving department goals, budgets, and objectives.
- Steps in as a working Supervisor whenever staffing levels or business demands require. May need to perform duties including but not limited to cooking, serving, cashiering, and bartending.
- Follows all responsible service of alcohol guidelines including service times, monitoring for signs of intoxication, and checking identification for age requirements.
- Performs all duties in a positive, professional manner. Maintains a clean and professional appearance according to company standards.
- Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
- Must be able to work the required work schedule, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Works physically onsite to perform all assigned tasks.
- Ensures all safety standards are met, and possible safety hazards are quickly resolved.

Required Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities
- 1 year of F&B experience required. 3 years of F&B management experience preferred. Casino experience helpful, but not required.
- Experience with POS in a fast paced restaurant, bar, or casino required, preferably using desktop reporting features. Experience in a fast food court or ala-carte setting is helpful.
- Associate degree in Hotel/Restaurant management, Culinary or related area preferred.
- Restaurant opening experience is preferred.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Bilingual skills a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Ability to interact and communicate in both group and individual settings.
- Must be able to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite and POS systems.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills required.
- Ability to read, analyze, and act upon documents and reports necessary.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Strong problem skills are a necessity.
- Must be able to prioritize tasks and work through multiple tasks at once. This includes the ability to work calmly and effectively under deadline. Must be detailed oriented.
- Must be able to work individually or with a team as necessary to perform assigned tasks.
- Must be able to work safely and efficiently within a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to maintain the appropriate Gaming License.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain responsible service of alcohol and food handler certification through Prairie Flower training courses.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
- Regularly required to stand and walk for most of shift.
- Regularly lifts and carries up to 100 pounds. Consistently push and pulls up to 100 pounds.
- Uses hands grasp, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. Must have the dexterity to hold and maneuver food trays, plates, and glasses. Will periodically need dexterity for carrying and balancing a food tray.
- Consistently required to reach with hands and arms, and balance.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud on the casino floor.
- Must be able to operate in stressful situations.
- This casino has an enclosed gaming area where smoking is allowed. Team members may be exposed to a smoking environment in or around this designated smoking area.
