Forest Tek Lumber is looking for a Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in our Tavernier office. This person will manage all accounts payable procedures to ensure our payables are processed in a timely fashion.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting, excellent attention to detail and deep knowledge of regional laws/regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Post business transactions, process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records for all three locations. 
• Maintain meticulous records of outstanding payables.
• Clarify any questionable invoice items, prices or receiving signatures.
• Maintain copies of PO’s, invoices or correspondence necessary for files.
• Post checks.
• Facilitates payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies and mails payments.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• Strong math skills
• Deep knowledge of accounting principles
• Excellent written and verbal communications
• Ability to handle information confidentially 
• Familiarity with accounting software preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel
• Proven experience meeting regular deadlines
