Forest and Conservation Worker reforests and protects timber tracts and maintains forest facilities including roads and campsites. Applies a wide range of concepts. Being a Forest and Conservation Worker applies practical knowledge of practices and procedures from two or more specialized fields, such as forestry, soil science and/or agriculture. May require 2-4 years of related work experience. Additionally, Forest and Conservation Worker relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Working with farmers to implement cover crop.
Monitoring and reporting acres planted.
Assist farmers with selecting species compatible with other components of the cropping system.
Advise producers on planting dates that will not compete with the production crop yields or harvest.
Recommend the method and timing of termination to meet the grower's objective.
Conduct quality assurance review of planted acres.
Completer progress reports.
Must have reliable transportation that can be taken to producer's farm.
