Position Details
Stewards Individual Placements (Stewards) provides individuals with service and career opportunities to strengthen communities and preserve our natural resources. Participants work with federal agencies, tribal governments, and nonprofits building institutional capacity, developing community relationships, and supporting ecosystem health. Stewards in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management are seeking an intern who will help with the BLM Monticello and Bears Ears National Monument recreation program and focus on improvements to visitor use data. Prospective candidates would come away with a detail-oriented understanding of visitor use management principles, knowledge of the tools and equipment used to accurately estimate visitation, and a greater understanding of the varied landscapes contained in the Monticello Field Office and Bears Ears National Monument. This position would include field work outside in the remote and outstanding landscapes of southeastern Utah.
