Forest and Conservation Worker reforests and protects timber tracts and maintains forest facilities including roads and campsites. Applies a wide range of concepts. Being a Forest and Conservation Worker applies practical knowledge of practices and procedures from two or more specialized fields, such as forestry, soil science and/or agriculture. May require 2-4 years of related work experience. Additionally, Forest and Conservation Worker relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The Monroe County Conservation District is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Resource Conservation Specialist. An employee in this position will educate and assist the agricultural community in the area of farm conservation and nutrient management planning, ensuring members of the agricultural community understand the purpose and importance of implementing conservation practices that protect and enhance our soil and water resources.
The successful candidate will be required to review Erosion and Sediment control plans, Chapter 105 Waterways and Wetland Encroachments, perform site inspections, provide technical assistance, and actively engage in education and outreach programs for site contractors and site representatives.
