Location: Northwest Louisiana

Primary Responsibilities: The forester supports the budgeting, planning, and execution of forestry operations.

Responsibilities include:

• Evaluating timber value
• Working with landowners and mill partners
• Harvest planning
• Harvest supervision

This position involves a combination of both field- and office-based duties, including:

• Streamside management zone and boundary marking
• Collecting GPS field data
• Communication with mill procurement, landowners, and loggers
• Logging supervision
• Computer-based reporting and management

Job Qualifications: The ideal candidate will hold the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in forestry or a similar discipline.
• Two or more years of related experience is preferred, but not required.
• Outstanding safety record in all aspects of previous employment history is crucial.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office and ESRI software

Technical experience with the following is desired:

• Conducting performance assessments and applying appropriate control measures
• Timber-sales evaluation administration and inspections
• Forest measurements
