Job description
The Service technicians are responsible for both field and shop service of our material handling equipment. This position plays a crucial role in providing expert maintenance, repairs, and installations to ensure client satisfaction and equipment functionality.
Responsibilities
- Travel to client locations to perform on-site maintenance, repairs, and installations.
- Diagnose equipment issues, identify solutions, and execute necessary repairs.
- Ensure proper documentation of service activities, including work orders and client communication.
- Perform equipment maintenance, inspections, and overhauls in the company’s service shop.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment issues.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on material handling equipment to prolong their lifespan.
- Maintain service records and provide recommendations for potential future repairs or upgrades.
- Keep service admin informed of service status, repair estimates, and completion times.
- Stay updated on equipment models, technologies, and industry best practices.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve issues.
- Manage parts and materials inventory for both field and shop service.
- Any and all additional duties assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical or trade school certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a service technician in material handling equipment or related industry.
- Strong technical skills in hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- A valid driver’s license for field service roles.
Work Environment
- Warehouse/Shop setting.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent walking in shop.
- Ability to lift at least 50lbs.
- Flexibility to bend, stoop, and kneel.
