Duties:
- Perform routine dental examinations, including x-rays, to assess oral health conditions
- Diagnose and treat dental issues such as cavities, gum disease, and tooth decay
- Administer anesthetics to patients prior to dental procedures
- Perform dental procedures such as fillings, extractions, root canals, and crown placements
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and provide preventive care instructions
- Collaborate with dental hygienists and other dental professionals to develop treatment plans for patients
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical documentation systems (e.g., Dentrix, Epic)
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique during all procedures
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in dentistry through continuing education and professional development
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school
- Valid state dental license in good standing
- Proven experience as a Dentist or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, medical coding, and terminology
- Proficiency in using electronic medical documentation systems (e.g., Dentrix, Epic)
- Excellent patient assessment skills and ability to develop personalized treatment plans
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain complex dental procedures to patients in a clear and understandable manner
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing high-quality patient care
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with HIPAA regulations
