Fraud Prevention Associate researches and analyzes potential customer fraud cases to identify and prevent future fraud. Reviews and responds to suspected fraudulent service requests and identifies fraudulent transactions using various research methods. Being a Fraud Prevention Associate follows standard procedures to document a loss and prepares a summary and reconciliation. Communicates the status and resolution of the incident to the customer and/or bank. Additionally, Fraud Prevention Associate identifies areas that need increased security procedures or software to protect customer accounts. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Fraud Prevention Associate works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Loss Prevention Associate

  • We are seeking a full-time associate to work Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 - 6:00 pm each day. Loss Prevention experience is preferred.

    McGuckin is able to offer full-time associates a comprehensive benefit package to include medical, dental and vision health insurance, 401k, sick and vacation time, a permanent schedule, a store discount and much more.

    There is a $250 signing bonus for all full-time employees that stay full-time for 6 months.

    Position Summary

    This position is responsible for preventing loss and maintaining a safe work and shopping environment.
    This position is Full Time, and requires the ability to work weekends and evenings.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Responsible for maintaining surveillance on store activity, using cameras such as CCTV (closed circuit television), monitoring in-store traffic, along with actions of employees that may be under investigation.
    • Accountable for ensuring that store surveillance is recording and working properly at all times
    • Participate in the training of new hire associates in matters of loss prevention.
    • Accountable for walking the store to prevent and/or monitor any suspicious activity
    • Conduct routine inspections of the facility to maintain physical security and protection of assets.
    • Enforce company standards as they relate to security and safety procedures.
    • Participate in the store's loss prevention and safety programs
    • Responsible for maintaining visual contact with suspected shoplifter and notifying fellow loss prevention associates via handheld radio
    • Accountable for stopping the shoplifter in a professional manner that would not reflect negatively on McGuckin Hardware
    • Responsible for contacting local authorities if loss prevention associate feels it is necessary
    • Complete reports, regardless if charges are filed, and file in loss prevention file for future reference if needed

    Non-Essential Job Functions

    • Maintains and stocks the store’s first aid kits
    • Responsible for monitoring employee parking
    • Prepare records for shipment to the warehouse on an bi-annual basis
    • Assists other Loss Prevention Associates in keeping loss prevention office and interview room clean and organized
    • Assists Loss Prevention Manager in ensuring that two loss prevention associates are working at all times
    • May be required to appear in court as a witness
    Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Loss Prevention experience preferred.

    Education/Work Experience

    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • Experience in retail or cashiering preferred

    Technical Experience

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Must be able to type 30 wpm minimum
