Job Title: Associate Director, Violence Prevention

Reports to: Director of Violence Prevention

POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Director, Violence Prevention Initiative is responsible for the overall administration of the program area. This includes providing strategic and long-term program planning, implementation strategies, consultation and direction to other program administrative personnel. Works with counterparts to create continuity, consistency and uniformity of the organization’s mission for the program.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / FUNCTIONS
- Provide administrative oversight, management of the Street Outreach Team.
- Ensures coordination of assigned outreach teams in conjunction to the Event Coordinator and their events.
- Serve as a liaison and representative with the Street Outreach
- Oversee the relationship between our case manager and the Outreach team.
- Ensures essential community partners to implement the program.
- Develops and implements a work plan that meets contractual obligations.
- Ensures systems are in place to trace performance and service implementation at sites.
- Attend appropriate meetings as an official representative of BTM at lead agency meetings.
- Coordinate staff professional development/training opportunities.
- Ensures that timecards for outreach personnel are timely and completed correctly
- Completes tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in social services or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-3 years related experience.
- Must be a leader with a proven track record of results with employee performance and management, or a combination of related work experience and college coursework.

- Must possess an accurate and informed understanding of cultural and urban realities, especially as related to youth, families, poverty, and community development.
SUPERVISION
- Direction received from the Director, Violence Prevention.
- Supervises Outreach Program Coordinators and Outreach Workers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an office located in a multi-purpose facility and/or outdoors and thus will be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be high depending on the activities in the facility.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and/or sit; use hands and fingers to feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; regularly talk or hear. The employee must be able to bend, stoop, pull, lift as well as have overhead extension of arms. Must be able to stand for long periods of time; be able to lift, carry or move at least 50 pounds. Must adhere to proper handling and lifting techniques. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
