Job Description:

In search of a detail-oriented, proactive medical assistant at a growing functional dermatology clinic. Must be passionate about health and wellness and comfortable discussing key pillars of health with patients and community members.

Salary: $22/hr - $25/hr starting, depending on experience

Job Duties:

- Point of contact for functional dermatology membership services. Training is included. Some experience or understanding of principles of functional medicine is ideal.

- Provide phototherapy services for patients, includes charting. Training is included.

- Patient rooming for physician visits, includes charting.

- Must also be able to perform front desk reception and scheduling.

Hours: 8am – 5pm. Must have some flexibility as we are a small but growing clinic.

Days: Monday – Friday

Weekly Hours: Full Time 40hrs / week

Position Status: Non-Exempt

Experience and Skills:

Our highest priority is patient care and experience. We are looking for an outgoing, vibrant, health-conscious individual who is motivated and excited to learn new skills. Experience in dermatology and awareness of functional medicine is preferred but not required if the individual is highly motivated to learn. Must have general knowledge of medical office operations and a basic understanding of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Medical Assistant with certificate of completion from an accredited Medical Assisting Program.
• Current BLS Certified CPR certificate.
• Will consider other healthcare experience or credentials

Shine Dermatology is a dermatology clinic that has a special focus on phototherapy treatment. We offer both standard dermatology services and a functional dermatology membership. Functional medicine seeks to identify the root-cause of a medical illness and utilizes advanced testing to accomplish this goal. We are growing, and we are looking for an individual who has flexibility and enthusiasm to grow with us. Our membership program is new, and we are looking for an individual to help us execute the new system and recruit new members.

Responsibilities:

• Greet patients and visitors, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere in the reception area.
• Assist in providing phototherapy treatments, following physician order.
• Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and respond to inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintain accurate patient records, including demographic information, medical history, and treatment details.
• Coordinate and schedule patient appointments for phototherapy treatments, ensuring efficient utilization of treatment rooms and equipment.
• Verify insurance coverage and assist patients in completing necessary paperwork.
• Collect patient payments, issue receipts, and maintain accurate financial records.
• Provide detailed information to patients about the phototherapy process, including pre- and post-treatment instructions and any potential side effects. (Training provided)
• Provide detailed information to patients about our functional membership program, includes managing members and discovery calls. (Training provided)
• Collaborate with physician to ensure seamless patient flow and timely treatment administration.
• Maintain cleanliness in treatment rooms, and other common areas.
• Follow established office protocols, including confidentiality guidelines and compliance with HIPAA requirements.
• Sterilization of tools using autoclave or other cleaning procedures
• Set up and assistance during skin biopsy and small surgical procedures
• Other responsibilities as assigned to support business’ needs
