    Description

    The Funding Planning and Strategy team is a part of the Global Treasury Organization at American Express. The team’s core objectives are to maintain a well-diversified plan to fund the company’s global operations, advise various teams in execution against such plan and lead various strategic key initiatives to optimize funding mix and funding costs while complying with all relevant banking regulations. 

    The Manager will be responsible for driving strategic direction of American Express’s funding strategy. This is critical to the company’s funding planning process as American Express continues to grow its balance sheet. The role also requires an aptitude for bank governance related activities and ability to collaborate with teams across the organization in uplifting the company’s funding planning practices.

     

    Specific responsibilities of this position include:

    • Provide Treasury support for business partners, participate in company strategic initiatives, ongoing business unit projects, and cross-functional initiatives for funding related items
    • Partner with other disciplines to assist with company initiatives. Providing necessary analytics, CBA, and/or support on execution while clearly communicate objectives.
    • Support various strategic analysis to optimize AXP & AENB’s funding mix in response to evolving economic environment and our business needs
    • Perform cost of funds analytics to help determine how we make short and long funding decisions
    • Assess impact of compliance with LCR and NSFR daily requirements to our long-term funding strategy

      

    Minimum Qualifications

    • 5 years Finance experience
    • Ability to analyze financial problems and present findings clearly and effectively
    • Strategic and independent thinker with the ability to collaborate across teams
    • Flexible and adaptable as well as comfortable with ambiguity
    • Highly motivated self-starter and quick learner with effective and independent prioritization skills
    • High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Working knowledge of capital markets

    Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
