Performs a variety of semiskilled duties in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, or plastering. Being a General Maintenance Worker assists maintenance engineers and other workers with their tasks. Complies with established safety guidelines and procedures. Additionally, General Maintenance Worker may require a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. This job posting will be used to fill one part-time vacancy within the Minnesota Veterans Home - Silver Bay. This position is a rotating shift; day/evening. The day shift is 7:00am-3:30pm, the evening shift is 11:00am-7:30pm. The work schedule will include at least 40 hours per two-week pay period and may include additional work hours, based on business needs. The position is initially eligible for partial employer contribution towards health and dental insurance benefits.
Duties include assisting residents with dining, household activities, and providing back up driver for resident appointments. Completes assigned grounds keeping tasks while meeting all quality and performance standards. Performs authorized tasks related to housekeeping, laundry, and grounds keeping so that a clean and safe environment is maintained for residents and employees. This includes but is not limited to:
