Genetics Counselor provides genetic counseling and education to individuals and families at risk for hereditary disorders. Obtains and analyzes family medical history to identify patients at risk for specific disorders or syndromes. Being a Genetics Counselor recommends genetic testing as warranted and counsels patients on test results, treatment and alternative coping methods. May provide crisis intervention as needed. Additionally, Genetics Counselor requires a master's degree of Genetic Counseling. Typically reports to a manager or director. Requires board certification from the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG). Typically requires a state license to practice.     We have an exciting Genetics Multi-Site Farm Department Team Lead opportunity in Hennessey, OK. The Genetics Multi-Site Farm Department Team Lead will attend and care for the swine, assisting with supervising employees in the finisher department under the direction of the manager.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensure all standard operating procedures are being followed and facilities are in good working condition.
    • Maintain high herd health and adhere to all biosecurity set forth by the company and proper feeding and care of animals.
    • Training of employees on day-to-day processes and procedures to develop a competent workforce by utilizing hands-on training methods.
    • Supervising and scheduling groups of employees and acting as manager when the supervisor is not present.
    • Maintain accurate records and reports of animals, employees, and supplies on the farm.
    • Assist and ensure that all weekly and daily reports are turned in timely and accurately.
    • Adhere to all safety procedures.
    • Follow the assigned medication and vaccination protocols for the farm.
    • Maintain the alarm system and all emergency systems and answer alarm calls properly.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required:

    • Associate degree from a 2-year college or technical school; or 6 months swine production experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Ability to use critical thinking and judgment skills to reach the best possible solution to a problem.
    • Demonstrate experience or desire to facilitate, encourage, coach, and lead a team to reach set goals.
    • Must be fluent in English, reading and writing.

    Preferred:

    • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, not required.

    SCHEDULE

    • 1st shift, based on business needs.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • Primarily work on the farms daily.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
    • The noise level in the work environment is dependent on which environment you are in
    • The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel as requested.
