Glazier installs glass in windows, skylights, store fronts, and display cases, or on surfaces such as building fronts, interior walls, ceilings, and tabletops. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being a Glazier may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Glazier relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Essential Functions:
Retrieve work orders from scheduling department.
Set up and organize loads for Glazers.
Check load sheet for proper series, color, size and quantity.
Prepare all necessary material.
Glaze doors.
Apply protective corners when door is complete (tape on stiles when necessary).
Store doors on appropriate installer cart.
Locate cart in installer staging area.
Keep area clean.
Other duties as requested.
Qualifications/Additional Skills:
1 year work experience in manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to communicate with supervisors and other employees.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use close vision; use distance vision; use hands to handle and balance objects; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, kneel or crawl. The employee is frequently required to lift or move up to 50 lbs., and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
