The Global Mobility Manager establishes, implements, and maintains policies and practices for assisting employees and their families as they relocate. Manages the employee relocation process, which may include but is not limited to sale of current residence, lease cancellation, home purchase or rental, realtor selection, mortgage assistance, and movement of household goods. Being a Global Mobility Manager approves relocation budgets and plans and the disbursement of funds. Works to minimize relocation costs and disruption of work for the employee and the organization. In addition, Global Mobility Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Global Mobility Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     The Global Mobility Director is responsible for building a cohesive global mobility infrastructure that supports the strategy, design, development, administration, compliance, and communication of HFHI's global mobility programs, policies, and processes. This position ensures that the global mobility programs at HFHI support the dynamic needs of the business and employees around the world and support HFHI's ability to attract and retain talent by proactively identifying and driving initiatives to improve the global mobility programs.

    This role manages the International Assignment program, employment engagements with Area Offices, National Organizations, Branches, etc. The Global Mobility Director is integral in all aspects of multi-national employment, international assignments, and relocation in the countries in which HFHI operates, and administers the international compensation, benefits, taxation, immigration, and global workforce location coordination and relocation of short-or long-term international assignments.

    This position partners closely with Headquarters and Area Offices Counsels, HR Business Partners, talent acquisition, finance, and local Area Office Human Resources to ensure efficient stewardship of HFHI's global mobility programs. This position will be based in a country where HFHI can legally hire, and the employee can legally work.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Drive the Global Mobility strategy and roadmap to ensure HFHI's international assignment, immigration, relocation and tax policies and practices are aligned with the business and talent strategy as well as desired employee experience.
    • Build an infrastructure by analyzing and creating global mobility policies, design and ensure policies are in compliance with local regulations and jurisdiction and meet local standards.
    • Regular project work such as building international documentation, compliance reviews, relocation cost reports, payroll compliance for mobile employees, service initiations with external vendors and improving ways of working and communicating.
    • Oversee the design, administration, and communication of mobility programs globally, including vendor strategy and policies and practices.
    • Provide thought leadership for global mobility at HFHI by staying abreast of industry standard processes and benchmarks.
    • Enforce company policies related to employee relocation and mobility.
    • Enhance communication and effectiveness of HFHI's global mobility programs.
    • Partner with internal and external legal counsels, tax, and Payroll teams to ensure programs are compliant while monitoring legal and regulatory environment to proactively prepare for changing landscape.
    • Stay updated on Global Mobility trends and regulations to ensure adherence to international laws and best practices.
    Minimum Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree or above or equivalent experience
    • Proven track record of professional achievement and a minimum of 7 to 10 years of global mobility experience.
    • 7 years' experience with both the compensation and benefits aspects of global mobility programs (domestic and international) in an ever-changing evolving environment.
    • Expert on issues related to U.S. and International tax, immigration, relocation issues with experience supporting global organizations.
    • A respected business partner able to effectively consult, negotiate, resolve conflict, and inspire change with a variety of partners at all levels.
    • A proactive and creative thinker who can provide strategic thought leadership and prioritization, think analytically, and solve complex issues and challenges in a way that balances the needs of the business and employees while maintaining compliance.
    Preferred Requirements (in addition to minimum):
    • Experience implementing and managing global mobility programs.
    • Builder of global mobility programs and enjoy building from the ground up.
    • Knowledge and experience with international tax and compliance requirements and statutes.
    • Process-oriented mindset, collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders, and the ability to propel initiatives forward are essential.
    • Well-developed written communication, project management, and analytical skills, along with sound judgment, discretion, multitasking ability, and the capacity to anticipate downstream issues.
    • Critical thinking and strong analytical skills are essential for this role.
    • Expertise with analytics, Excel, PowerPoint, Global People Systems, and leveraging technology to drive efficiency and scale.
    • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and working in a fast-changing environment.
