Global Engineering Manager Exempt

The Global Engineering Manager is mainly responsible for developing a strategic engineering approach to the corporate Global synergy enhancement and PMI in both Hanwha Aerospace Korea & the USA & Vietnam

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage the Development cell for improvement the current manufacturing method through searching & verify the advanced technology
Monitor technology trend in aero engine industry and review the effectiveness & possibility of application.
Understand aviation engine drawings and related specifications and design the required manufacturing processes and related resources based on them, and analyze new manufacturing methods and their cost differences.
Monitor value stream metrics for value stream health, identify opportunities for improvement, and coordinate release content based on product objectives and development needs to accelerate future delivery while addressing technical needs.
Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, quality, relationships, and coordinate work between different teams and locations throughout the value stream.
Negotiate, plan and manage all value stream activities, and conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews.
Lead and coordinate the Go-Live activities, including the execution of the deployment plans and checklists, and participate in planning or change meetings to discuss release scope and roadblocks.
Execute value stream management best practices, maintain a release repository and manage essential information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.
Communicate all critical project plans, commitments, and changes, including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes.
Actively correspond with the company's existing and potential new business partners to explore and develop new business relationships and opportunities for the company, especially in new, future aerospace business models.
Perform engineering/technical work concerning the above activities, including jobs concerning the aviation engine component's design and development/production.
Work collaboratively with business leaders in Korea and Vietnam to leverage technology-based resources.
Serve as the main point of contact and intermediary for Research & Development and Global engineering synergy enhancement and PMI in Hanwha Aerospace Korea & the USA.
Assess the capabilities of the contracting parties of the company, including the equipment or/and tool suppliers, technical partners, and clients, to evaluate the competitiveness of the company's relationship with those companies and propose new businesses.
Provide technical input or propose a plan for timely new product industrialization for the company. Research the engineering capabilities of other affiliated companies in Korea and advise how such affiliated companies can create synergy with the company.
Provide engineering input, guidance and management for new products, development and test programs in collaboration with Hanwha Aerospace Korea & Vietnam.Physical Demands:
Some lifting, moving instrumentation, performing tests in various areas of the facility required
Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 40 lbs.
Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about our facility
Work Environment:
Work is usually performed in a combination of office and plant settings.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field
3 years of previous release, development, or product management experience in Aviation engine component (Solid understanding of project management principles preferred)
3 years as a technical leader of enginreering in Aviation engine component
5 years of experience in Aviation engine component development or operations
Ability to travel internationally when required
Advanced knowledge of Aviation engine component manufacturing
Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills
General PC knowledge including Microsoft Office expert level knowledge of Excel, working Knowledge of Access
Ability to coordinate multiple group efforts
Any experience in the affiliated companies of the company is preferred.
