Job Description

The web coordinator is responsible for deploying web engagement technologies in support of university marketing and communications efforts. This includes website development, performance enhancement and monitoring, such as SEO and metrics reporting, and accessibility support.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilizing the university’s content management system (CMS) and other tools to create, support and maintain web properties.
• Develop content for web pages, including writing copy, integrating imagery, and using best practices for page structure and format.
• Monitoring web properties for performance, accessibility, quality, legal and security issues.
• Evaluating web properties and partnering with page managers to provide recommendations to improve web content effectiveness.
• Staying informed and up to date with web technology innovations; providing guidance for faculty and staff who manage web department web pages.
• Ensuring that digital accessibility standards are followed for web and digital communications.
• Enhancing SEO for university-level web pages.
• Serving as a resource for faculty and staff to assist with SEO improvements.
• Providing guidance on how to best utilize web properties.
• Providing customer service and support for web page managers throughout the university.
• Participating in meetings and committee work.
• Taking on projects and other duties as assigned that support the Office of Marketing and Communications’ role of managing and developing the university website.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal
• Experience in Website Development

 
Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using a Content Management System (CMS)
• Experience in marketing or communications, preferably in higher education
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, or Javascript Knowledge of Analytics, Web Accessibility, and Search Engine Optimization

Salary will be between $47,325 - $50,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
