The Golf Course Superintendent oversees continued development of golf course during golf season to improve playing conditions and maintenance of course during off-season. Responsible for overall maintenance and care of the golf course, including turf/grass management, irrigation, and chemical applications (e.g., fertilizer, pesticides) to ensure quality playing conditions. Being a Golf Course Superintendent liaises with the Head Golf Professional on any issues related to golf course operations and maintenance. Manage purchasing, replenishment, and inventory of all materials, supplies, and equipment used to maintain golf course. In addition, Golf Course Superintendent typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a golf course general manager. The Golf Course Superintendent manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Elkdale Country Club Golf Operations Manager
The Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the golf course operation. The candidate should possess a background in business and/or marketing as well as a very good knowledge of the game of golf. Candidate must be able to run tournaments/leagues from start to finish. The position will also require strong computer and technology skills. The candidate needs excellent organizational skills and be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. He/she must be self-motivated, show initiative and be able to work both independently and as a team member.
DUTIES: include but are not limited to:
*Work closely with Golf Course Superintendent and have ongoing communication
with grounds staff for golf course conditions
*Work closely with Clubhouse Manager
*Marketing of golf course, tournaments and events through all means possible
*Retail experience
*Hire and train staff
*Supervise and schedule employees and volunteers
*Open and close the Golf Shop
*Maintain appropriate inventory and supplies
*Accounting for all monies that pass through the Golf Shop
*Provide monthly financial reports
*Prepare daily deposits and enter daily sales receipts into QuickBooks
*Assist in developing and implementing strategies to meet the Country Club’s
goals and objectives
*Oversight and processing of all memberships
*Promote and assist with tournament and event organization
*Registering golfers for league play, tournaments and Jr. Program
*Oversee booking tee times
*Manage cart fleet
*Attend all Board and committee meetings
*Report to Board of Director’s
*Maintain dress code
*Notify Golf Committee of any concerns or problems
