Golf Superintendent - Assistant assists the Superintendent in the overall maintenance and care of the golf course, including turf/grass management, irrigation, and chemical applications (e.g., fertilizer, pesticides) to ensure quality playing conditions. Supervises personnel and participates in the maintenance of the golf course tees, greens, fairways, and cart paths. Being a Golf Superintendent - Assistant ensures adherence to golf course maintenance budget and capital plans. May serve in the Superintendent's capacity during absence. Additionally, Golf Superintendent - Assistant may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a golf course superintendent. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Player Assistant Position:
Responsible for assisting golfers during their rounds, managing the pace of play, assisting guests with course etiquette, alerting pro shop staff regarding any on-course problems, and promoting the facility and its events.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills, a customer service specialist for the course/facility.
Become a welcoming “first contact” with golfers, help create an enjoyable course experience.
Coordinate closely with management, pro shop, beverage cart, and maintenance staff.
Utilize the daily tee sheet and monitor for updates throughout the shift.
Ensure all equipment, carts, radios, water stations, etc. are working correctly.
Maintain accurate record keeping of the number of players daily.
Move around the course in reverse order, hole 18 back to hole 1, repeat.
Keep golfers on pace-of-play schedule and report any problems to pro shop.
Assist guests with any on-course problems, alert appropriate supervisor if necessary.
Prepare for inclement weather and know necessary procedures when siren sounds.
Be a team player, energetic, professional, dependable, enforce facility rules/regulations.
Assist in keeping the course clean of debris as you move around the course.
Call attention to any maintenance issues that need addressing.
Must be 18 years of age, with reliable transportation.
Must be flexible and available days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
