Golf Superintendent jobs in Queens Village, NY
Golf Superintendent is responsible for overall maintenance and care of the golf course, including turf/grass management, irrigation, and chemical applications (e.g., fertilizer, pesticides) to ensure quality playing conditions. Oversees continued development of golf course during golf season to improve playing conditions and maintenance of course during off-season. Being a Golf Superintendent manage purchasing, replenishment, and inventory of all materials, supplies, and equipment used to maintain golf course. Liaises with the Head Golf Professional on any issues related to golf course operations and maintenance. Additionally, Golf Superintendent typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a golf course general manager. The Golf Superintendent manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Golf Superintendent typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and execute all aspects of turf and landscape maintenance, ensuring the highest standards of course conditioning.
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans to optimize turf health, including irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and aeration.
- Supervise and lead a team of groundskeepers, providing training, guidance, and support to ensure efficient and effective performance.
- Coordinate closely with the management team to plan and execute course improvement projects and renovations within established budgets and timelines.
- Oversee equipment maintenance, inventory, and procurement to guarantee proper functionality and longevity of tools and machinery.
- Implement sustainable and environmentally friendly practices in course maintenance and
management.
- Oversee golf course set up, mowing, water management, cultural practices, irrigation repair, irrigation scheduling, record keeping, fertilizer and chemical applications, mechanical assistance, lead small projects, and moisture management.

Extensive Knowledge of Golf Turf Management
Cultural Fit:

- Ability to work in teams or individually.
- Spanish speaking is a plus, but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
