Government Affairs Director implements strategic plans and oversees engagement objectives to develop and maintain productive relations with all levels of government authorities that will support and enhance the businesses' goals. Manages teams that build relationships and liaise with government entities(federal, state, provincial, or local) that regulate or influence business activities. Being a Government Affairs Director performs ongoing monitoring and analysis of proposed legislation, emerging issues, and trends to determine the potential impact on the organization. Collaborates with industry groups and organizations with complementary objectives to achieve objectives. Additionally, Government Affairs Director creates communication vehicles and delivers messaging to inform and support business leaders. Requires a bachelor's degree in public policy, public administration, business or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Government Affairs Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Government Affairs Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. The Director of Student Affairs partners with the proposed Assistant Director of Student Affairs and CS department leadership to develop, communicate, and execute a shared, data-informed strategy for student engagement and success initiatives in West Lafayette and Indianapolis. This position will collaborate with campus entities to foster and promote pathways for student support and engagement, and undergraduate research. You ill provide strategic leadership for CS learning communities. The Director will coordinate the CS Bridge program, act as a liaison for student clubs and organizations, serve as ombudsman for student concerns, and assist with scholarship dissemination.
