Grocery Store Manager plans and directs the day-to-day operations of a grocery store. Develops strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, and increase profitability. Being a Grocery Store Manager ensures customer needs are met, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient. Ensures all products and displays are merchandised effectively to maximize sales and profitability. Additionally, Grocery Store Manager forecasts staffing needs and develops a recruiting strategy to provide optimal staffing in all areas. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Grocery Store Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Grocery Store Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Responsibilities include mentoring and empowering our front and back of house staff, managing day to day restaurant operations and guest relations.
Other Responsibilities:
- Ensuring operational areas of FOH & BOH are managed to the company’s standards
- Hold all employees accountable while adhering to company operational procedures
- Understand and use financial indictors to measure productivity
- Effectively hire, train schedule and develop staff according to team and business needs
- Respond to all guest and staff communications/feedback in a effective and timely manner
- Effectively use and operate all necessary tools, utensils, equipment and software (for example, restaurant management software, etc.)
Must have a flexible work schedule (includes weekends brunch, lunch and dinner) and reliable transportation.
