Additionally, Groundskeeper is responsible for snow and dirt removal. Keeps the grounds and environment of a facility in a clean, attractive, orderly, safe, and healthy condition. Operates light trucks and assorted power equipment. Performs routine cleaning and maintenance on gardening and grounds equipment. May require horticultural training. SUMMARY
Maintains school and residential grounds by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Cleans grounds, streets and sidewalks and removes litter.
Shovels snow from walks and driveways.
Spreads salt on public passage ways to prevent ice buildup.
Plants grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
Waters lawn and shrubs.
Repairs fences and gates.
Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts.
Sharpens tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, shears and mower blades.
Makes minor repairs on equipment such as lawn mowers, spreader, and snow removal equipment.
Collects trash and takes to dump site.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job occasionally monitors and assigns the work of 2-5 summer workers and WIP workers throughout the year.
