Utilizes underwriting guidelines, rules, standards, and levels of authority to accept, reject, or mitigate risk for applications and determine appropriate premiums, limits, and coverages. Being an Group Underwriter calculates renewal rates. Ensures that underwriting activities comply with all industry and governmental regulations. Additionally, Group Underwriter may coordinate with field agents to collect or clarify information or decisions. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. **IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL RESIDE WITHIN 40 MILES OF TANNER, AL**
This position is responsible for providing the necessary leadership to the dock and sub assembly groups of the Weld Dock Operation, consisting of Team Leaders and Team Members. This position will rotate between shifts every four weeks, and work overtime as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED required. Associates Degree and/or five (5) or more years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably the automotive industry.
EXPERIENCE:
Must have prior experience in high volume material handling, preferably in the automotive industry. Three (3) plus years in supervision strongly preferred. Must demonstrate the ability to understand and operate material handling equipment safely and knowledge of projection and spot welding. Must possess a strong problem-solving aptitude and ability to apply problem solving strategies to improve processes. Knowledge of shipping and receiving operations preferred.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job will focus upon the direction of work activities and will be responsible for direct management / supervisory duties affecting hourly associates in our customers facility.Must ensure all customer and Carter Express defined safety, processes, schedules are followed by all team members.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Must have working knowledge of PC applications and cognitive ability to learn customer software application(s). Will be required to attend training and conduct training as necessary.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Solid work history and willingness to successfully function in a team environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is required to work in manufacturing environment facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving material handling equipment. The employee is occasionally exposed to spot weld and or projection weld fumes. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
