Hand Compositor/Typesetters sets type by hand and machine. Assembles type and cuts in galley for printing articles, headings, and other printed matter. Being a Hand Compositor/Typesetters determines type size, style, and compositional pattern from work order. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Hand Compositor/Typesetters may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. This full-time, benefited position provides 1:1 patient care in a collaborative work environment where you can advance your knowledge and skills. Hours per week are negotiable from 24-40 based on applicant preference. Certified Hand Therapists at Slocum Orthopedics have on-site access to Board Certified Hand Surgeons and Trauma Surgeons, including co-visits with patients.
