Head Cataloging Librarian develops cataloging policies and procedures and implements improvement. Manages staff and student assistants in all formats cataloging following updated workflows. Being a Head Cataloging Librarian creates metadata schema to ensure efficient workflow for metadata projects. Typically requires a master's degree. Additionally, Head Cataloging Librarian typically reports to top management. The Head Cataloging Librarian manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Cataloging Librarian typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.       Description: MSAD #11 is currently seeking a team oriented, energetic, and creative educator to join the Gardiner Area High School teaching staff as a Librarian. The GAHS Library Commons is a welcoming, inclusive, and dynamic space for students and staff. The librarian ensures that students and staff have an enriched library environment containing a wide variety and range of materials that will invite intellectual growth and aid all students in acquiring the skills needed to take full advantage of the library resources. The school's librarian will work closely with faculty as a collaborative partner to co-plan and co-teach, in some cases, across content areas. Through the partnership, the librarian will support staff by curating resources from databases, museums, and the Library of Congress to strengthen learning and support students' skill development.

      Additional Information: The successful candidate has the ability to Assist students and staff in selecting appropriate resources and access and evaluate intellectual content; Maintains awareness of evolving technology to anticipate the needs of the educational community; and maintains an efficient system of classifying, cataloging, and circulating all library materials to ensure equity of access.
